Nat T. Bender
Candidate for Executive Vice President
Nat Bender
What experience do you have with URA-AFT?
I am proud to have been a member of the URA-AFT organizing committee and subsequently taking an elected leadership position. The past four years have been extremely gratifying witnessing the positive changes in the way URA-AFT members are treated at Rutgers.

What goals would you like to accomplish in the next three years?
I would like to work with our members to encourage more active participation. We will be best able to deliver concrete benefits for URA-AFT members if more of us add our talents and voices to the union. It is my job to keep encouraging everyone to join the effort.

What skills or qualifications do you bring to the position?
I am a three time Rutgers graduate with masters degrees in communications and labor relations and a small business consultant with Rutgers Business School for ten years. More importantly, I try to be a good listener and encourage members to stand up for their professional and personal rights with the union. I have been inspired by witnessing many unselfish acts of personal bravery working with grassroots community groups and strive to advocate for social justice in whatever I do.
